High Release Dance is currently looking for dancers!

We look for enthusiastic and dedicated dancers with some modern dance background. We welcome experience in other dance forms, too, to add to the diversity of the group. An interest in choreography is optional. Rehearsals take place in the Palo Alto/Mountain View area, and dancers should be available to start immediately. Prospective members should be committed to the idea of working in a collective group and contributing different skills to the process of developing shows.

About the audition process:
High Release auditions are informal and friendly. Please come to the audition warm and ready to dance. We ask you to fill out a one-page form about your dance background and interests, and then the audition will begin. Different company members teach across-the-floor movements and a longer dance phrase, followed by a brief improv, to allow you to show us your own style. Throughout much of the audition, some company members will dance with you; at times you'll be asked to dance in pairs. The audition concludes with a meeting during which we'll tell you more about High Release and answer any questions you may have.

Driving directions:
From 101, take the San Antonio Road exit and head southwest. Turn right on Middlefield Road. After the stoplight at Montrose, turn left into the Cubberley North Entrance (if you get to the small shopping center at Charleston Road, you've slightly overshot). Head to the back and park; DanceVisions is on your left.
